R.S. Taylor & Sons Brewery (5 mins) - locally brewed craft beer in a fantastic country setting. www.rstaylorbeer.com
Cossayuna Lake (5 mins) - Washington County's largest lake is just down the road. Bring your kayak or canoe and go for a sunset paddle! Good fishing, too.
Gardenworks (10 mins) - a lovely little store with a seasonal cafe, tasteful gifts, blueberry and raspberry picking, and more. www.gardenworksfarm.com
The Battenkill Creamery (10 mins) – homemade ice cream and delicious fresh milk and cheeses. www.battenkillcreamery.com
Lakeside General Store (10 mins) – a great spot for pastries, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, and unique home goods/gifts, with a small adjoining liquor store. www.lakesidegeneralstore.net
The Anvil Inn (15 mins) - this is our go-to restaurant. Burgers, steaks, and seafood in an old blacksmith shop with all of the original details. https://anvilinnrestaurant.com
Merck Forest & Farmland Center (30 mins) - an awesome privately-owned preserve with beautiful mountain views and hiking trails, organic maple syrup made on-site, and more. A truly special place. https://www.merckforest.org/
Glens Falls (30 mins) - a nice little city with a good number of shops and restaurants. https://www.cityofglensfalls.com/
Saratoga Springs (40 mins) - who hasn't heard of Saratoga? A lively downtown with many notable restaurants, bars, and shops. The racetrack is open in the summer, and there is also the Saratoga Casino year-round. https://www.saratoga.com/
Lake George (45 mins) - a cute tourist town with boat tours and Million Dollar Beach on gorgeous 32-mile-long Lake George. Outlet shopping is on the way. https://www.visitlakegeorge.com/
Manchester, VT (45 mins) - a quaint and pretty Vermont town with many nice stores and eateries, as well as outlet shopping. http://www.manchestervermont.com/
In addition to the above, countless outdoor activities abound, including tubing or fishing the Battenkill, hiking, biking, swimming, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and just about anything else you set your sights on - even a hot-air balloon ride!
